Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a Project Engineer Intern at SteelFab, you\u2019ll work closely with our Preconstruction and Project Management teams. You\u2019ll take on responsibilities that will enhance your skills and prepare you for a successful career in the steel construction industry.<\/p>\n

*This is an office-based position. Primary job duties will not be on project sites or manufacturing environments.<\/em><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Preconstruction<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.<\/li>\n
  2. Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.<\/li>\n
  3. Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.<\/li>\n
  4. Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.<\/li>\n
  5. Visit job sites to see job progress and build relationships with clients and vendors<\/li>\n
  6. Fabrication Shop Week:<\/strong> Gain hands-on experience with SteelFab\u2019s fabrication flow and production processes to deepen your understanding of the steel construction lifecycle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Project Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Project Management duties will be based on project schedules. Example duties:<\/li>\n
    2. Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.<\/li>\n
    3. Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.<\/li>\n
    4. Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models and review submittals.<\/li>\n
    5. Collaborate with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Qualifications and Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Minimum Education Level: <\/strong>Sophomore<\/p>\n

              Major<\/strong>: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields<\/p>\n

              Required: <\/strong>High level competency in PDF\u2019s, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, and common computer skills. Valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n

              Preferred: <\/strong>Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment<\/p>\n
