Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a Project Engineer Intern at Baltimore Fabrication, an affiliate of SteelFab, you\u2019ll work closely with our Preconstruction and Project Management teams. You\u2019ll take on responsibilities that will enhance your skills and prepare you for a successful career in the steel construction industry.<\/p>\n

*This is an office-based position. Primary job duties will not be on project sites or manufacturing environments.<\/em><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Preconstruction<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Gather subcontractor pricing for new project estimates.<\/li>\n
  2. Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project specifications.<\/li>\n
  3. Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.<\/li>\n
  4. Prepare pricing recaps for senior leadership.<\/li>\n
  5. Visit job sites to see job progress and build relationships with clients and vendors<\/li>\n
  6. Fabrication Shop Week:<\/strong> Gain hands-on experience with Baltimore Fabrication’s fabrication flow and production processes to deepen your understanding of the steel construction lifecycle.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Project Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Project Management duties will be based on project schedules. Example duties:\n
        \n
      • Draft and issue purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors.<\/li>\n
      • Evaluate design drawing revisions to identify and manage scope changes effectively.<\/li>\n
      • Manage the coordination of construction drawings and models and review submittals.<\/li>\n
      • Collaborate with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                Qualifications and Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

                Minimum Education Level: <\/strong>Sophomore<\/p>\n

                Major<\/strong>: Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields<\/p>\n

                Required: <\/strong>Microsoft Office experience, common computer skills. Valid driver\u2019s license<\/p>\n

                Preferred: <\/strong>Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships, or part-time employment<\/p>\n
